Pickled coils are products made from hot-rolled strip steel through processes such as pickling, rinsing, and drying. Their core function is to remove surface scale and purify the surface. Main Processes of Pickled Coils
Raw Material Preparation: Hot-rolled strip steel is selected, then uncoiled, and the head and tail are trimmed to remove non-conforming sections.
Pickling Treatment: The strip steel is immersed in acid solutions (such as hydrochloric or sulfuric acid) to dissolve the surface oxide scale (e.g., Fe₃O₄, FeO).
Rinsing and Drying: After pickling, residual acid is rinsed off with clean water, followed by hot air or drying processes to remove moisture and prevent rust.
Finishing and Recoiling: After leveling and edge trimming, the processed strip steel is recoiled to form the finished pickled coil.
Main Applications of Pickled Coils
Raw Material for Cold Rolling: Serves as the core blank for producing cold-rolled coils. The pickled strip steel has a clean surface and can directly enter the cold rolling process.
Stamping and Forming: Used for automotive parts (such as frames, inner door panels) and home appliance casings (e.g., refrigerator, washing machine panels) that require stamping.
Machinery Manufacturing: Used for making structural components, brackets, bases, etc., for mechanical equipment, where the surface quality meets the requirements for subsequent welding and painting.
Pipe Production: Serves as raw material for welded pipes. The scale-free surface of pickled coils reduces impurities during welding, improving weld quality.
Home Appliances and Building Materials: Used in applications like air conditioner heat exchangers, radiator fins, and decorative materials, balancing processability with surface cleanliness.
